Assam Melody in bulk available for wholesale. Bold black tea from the Assam region of India. Assam tea is known for a deep, burgundy-red cup and pungent flavor. Our Assam Melody is perfect for tea drinkers who may be new to the powerful character of Assam. Rich aroma, more sweet starchy than malty, like roasted plantains. Rounded mouthfeel, malty without being overpowering. Slight notes of raisin. Brisk astringency and not extremely pungent. A solid, 'friendly' Assam, from the well-regarded Meleng Estate.
This tea contains a high level of caffeine | Steep at 212° for 3-5 minutes.

“ Assam is a good go-to when you want something a little different than your basic black, such as English Breakfast. It also is a good 'mixer' to make you own blends. ”(4 mins @ 212°F)

“ Customers like this Assam. We've tried more expensive Assam from other sources, but honestly, Assam is Assam. ”

“ This tea reminds me of a favorite black tea from years ago. The company changed their mix of tea and the taste changed and not for the better. I spent years trying to find the same flavor I remembered...this tea is very very close. A blend of keemun and this tea pretty much hits the spot! A lovely Assam with fragrant malt/raisin undertones. I love this with a splash of lemon and just a little bit of stevia to sweeten. Makes a lovely cup of tea :)
1/14/21 - still one of my favorite black teas from Adagio! A slice of lemon and just a touch of stevia and I'm in heaven!
12/15/2023 - This tea is a staple in my tea stash. Lovely black tea flavor. Great to blend with, or sip plain. Yum!
1/26/2024 - Never sad to see this tea pop up again in CT. A favorite and staple black tea in my tea stash. Lovely flavor and blends well with other teas! :) ”

“ A nice mild cup. I prefer more depth of flavor, so I had to brew this with another tea. ”(3 mins @ 212°F)

“ DH is a fan of a certain Irish tea that comes in a green box so when I get a taste for something malty it's what I have. This measures up in every way and even does it one better with the nice fruity top note. (Btw, 208 is boiling because of the altitude here.) ”(5 mins @ 208°F)
You've all heard of teatime, that lovely slice of the afternoon where "everything stops for tea" (or, if you love tea as much as we do, the time known as "any time of the day"), but have you heard of Tea Garden Time? Also known as Bagan Time, it is one hour ahead of Indian Standard Time (IST), and is a time zone used exclusively in Assam's tea gardens. Originally introduced by the British to accommodate earlier sunrises in the region, it has been in place ever since, helping tea garden workers complete their work during daylight hours.
